Sunlight House
Swanmac Ltd was proud to be part of the restoration and transformation of Sunlight House – a historic 14-storey landmark at the heart of Manchester’s Spinningfields district.
Originally completed in 1932 and recognised as Manchester’s first skyscraper, Sunlight House is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment to bring it in line with today’s Grade A office standards. The project provided over 200,000 sq ft of flexible workspace ranging from single desks and private studios to full-floor offices, all underpinned by a commitment to sustainability.
Importantly, Sunlight House was retrofitted rather than rebuilt — an approach that avoids the environmental impact of demolition and new construction. The project achieved a four-star NABERS rating and includes a range of energy-efficient installations.
As part of this significant redevelopment, Swanmac Ltd was contracted to supply and install internal curtain tracks and curtains across thirteen floors of the building. Our scope of works contributes to the comfort, privacy, and acoustic performance of workspaces throughout the scheme.
We were pleased to be work with leading supply partners Silent Gliss, Kvadrat, and Dedar to deliver a high-quality finish that reflects the prestige and design vision of the wider development.
